Hey — thanks for using Seaside Beacon. We built this because we love sunrises and wanted a better way to know when they're worth waking up for. These terms are just the ground rules for using the service. Nothing unusual here, but please give them a read.

By using Seaside Beacon (the website, emails, Telegram bot, or any part of it), you're agreeing to these terms. If something doesn't sit right, you're always free to stop using the service.

What Seaside Beacon does

We're India's first sunrise quality forecast built specifically for Chennai's beaches — Marina, Elliot's (Besant Nagar), Covelong, and Thiruvanmiyur. We analyse atmospheric conditions and give each morning a score from 0 to 100, so you can decide if it's worth setting that 5 AM alarm.

The service includes sunrise scoring, a 7-day forecast calendar, photography guidance, email alerts, Telegram notifications, an AI sunrise assistant with built-in customer support, and a community feedback system.

About our forecasts

Here's the honest truth: our scores are predictions, not promises. They're based on atmospheric models, satellite data, and a scoring algorithm we've carefully built — but weather has a mind of its own. A score of 75 means conditions look great, not that the sunrise is guaranteed to be spectacular.

We do our best to be accurate, but we can't be held responsible if a forecast doesn't quite match reality. That's nature for you. If a score felt off, we'd love your feedback on the website — it genuinely helps us improve.

Free vs Premium

Free users get a daily sunrise forecast email at 4 AM IST with the score, basic conditions, and an honest recommendation on whether to go. No sign-up pressure, no expiry — it's free forever.

Premium users get everything free users get, plus an evening preview email at 8:30 PM to plan ahead, DSLR and mobile camera settings tailored to conditions, AI photography insights, the 7-day forecast calendar, beach comparison, the AI sunrise assistant on Telegram (with photography guidance and customer support), and priority alerts for 70+ score mornings.

Premium subscription

Premium is ₹49/month or ₹399/year, billed through Razorpay. Your subscription renews automatically — but you can cancel anytime from your account settings. When you cancel, you'll keep access until the end of your current billing period.

We don't do partial refunds for unused time, but if something goes wrong on our end — like a technical issue that blocks your access for a while — reach out and we'll sort it out fairly. We may adjust pricing in the future, but we'll always give existing subscribers at least 30 days' notice.

Your account

Premium features need an account. Please use real information when signing up, and keep your password to yourself. One account per person — sharing logins or reselling access isn't allowed. If something seems off with your account, let us know.

The AI assistant

Our Telegram bot is powered by AI and does a lot — sunrise forecasts, photography advice, sky descriptions, and customer support. It can answer questions about your account, help troubleshoot issues, and even raise support tickets on your behalf.

That said, AI responses are generated by language models and may occasionally get things wrong. Use them as a helpful guide alongside your own judgement. For anything the bot can't resolve, it'll point you to our support team.

Please don't

• Use bots or scrapers to pull data from our service.
• Try to reverse-engineer how our scoring algorithm works.
• Copy, resell, or republish our forecasts, photography content, or email designs without permission.
• Spam or misuse the AI assistant.
• Use the service for anything illegal.

We're a small team building something we care about — please respect the work that goes into it.

Our content

Everything on Seaside Beacon — the scoring algorithm, website design, email templates, photography tips, AI prompts, and branding — belongs to us. We put a lot of thought into all of it. Please don't copy or redistribute it without asking first.

Third-party services

We rely on a few external services to make things work: Open-Meteo for weather data, Razorpay for payments, Telegram for messaging, and AI providers for the chatbot. Each of these has their own terms and privacy policies. If any of them have downtime or issues, it might temporarily affect parts of our service — but we'll always work to get things back on track quickly.

The fine print

Seaside Beacon is provided "as is." We work hard to keep it running smoothly, but we can't guarantee it'll be perfect 100% of the time. We're not liable for missed sunrises, travel costs, or any other losses that come from using (or relying on) the service. Planned maintenance or third-party outages might occasionally cause brief interruptions.

Updates to these terms

We might update these terms occasionally. When we do, we'll update the date at the top. For anything significant, we'll email Premium subscribers to let them know. Continuing to use the service after a change means you're okay with the new terms.

Governing law

These terms follow Indian law. If there's ever a dispute, it'll be handled in the courts of Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
